Some people describe it as woody, nutty, or even slightly bitter. We refuse to use anything artificial in our products, so we turned to natural flavorings to effectively mask the taste of CBD without introducing questionable ingredients.

Is CBD oil safe?
Although research regarding CBD oil is far from complete, CBD is considered safe for most people to use on a daily basis. There are only a few documented minor side effects that occur infrequently, including dry mouth, digestive upset, and fatigue. CBD is known to interact with certain medications, so always consult with your doctor before using any product containing CBD. Be certain that he or she is aware of all medications and supplements you take on a regular basis.

How do I take full-spectrum CBD oil?
For the most effective relief of symptoms, squeeze a full dropper under your tongue, and hold it in place without swallowing for at least one full minute.  This allows the oils to be absorbed by the mucus membranes in your mouth so that the compounds can enter your bloodstream quickly and get right to work. Some people disregard the directions and swallow the oil immediately, but this leads to delayed, weaker results because your digestive system starts breaking down the compounds immediately before they hit your bloodstream, rendering them less effective.

Can I use CBD oil topically?

Can I take CBD oil if I’m on medications?
Like grapefruit, CBD oil has the ability to interact and interfere with certain medications. If you are on prescription medications or take other medicines, including holistic remedies, routinely, do not use CBD oil without first speaking with your doctor. In some cases, CBD will adversely affect the way a medication works, but in other cases, a medication can change the way CBD is processed in the body, and dosage might need to be altered accordingly. Either way, it is imperative that your doctor is made aware of all medications and supplements.

Does CBD oil go bad?
CBD oil tends to retain its beneficial properties and effectiveness for up to two years, especially if stored properly. After that time, the compounds start to degrade, which means the potency is diminished, and the oil will be less effective. To keep your CBD oil in prime condition for as long as possible, keep the oil in the original bottle, and store the bottle in a cool, dark location away from sunlight. 

Is CBD oil the same as CBD tincture?
Although CBD oil and CBD tincture are similar, they are made differently, differ in taste, and vary in absorption rates. You see, CBD oil contains CBD extract and a carrier oil. In our case, we typically use coconut MCT oil or hemp oil. CBD tinctures have a base of alcohol rather than oil. This allows for more rapid absorption and higher bioavailability compared to oil-based CBD, but the taste can be bitter. Although there are flavored CBD tincture options available, CBD oil continues to be more popular.

How do you make your CBD oil?
We partner with family-owned farms in Kentucky and North Carolina to source our heirloom hemp. After harvesting, the plants undergo an alcohol-extraction process to obtain our full-spectrum CBD oil, which contains the complete, original compound profile found in the hemp plants. We use this CBD oil to produce all of our oils, topicals, and gummies, but before any product is available to purchase, it is thoroughly tested by an independent third-party lab to verify that it is free of contaminants and impurities and meets our highest standards of quality, safety, and effectiveness.

Will I fail a drug test if I take CBD?
Taking broad-spectrum CBD or CBD isolate will not cause you to fail a drug test because these forms of CBD do not contain THC, which is the chemical responsible for the “high” associated with marijuana. Each of our CBD products is made using full-spectrum CBD, so they do contain trace amounts of THC (0.3%). It is possible that these trace amounts could be enough to trigger a positive result on a drug test, so if there is any chance that you will be tested for drugs in the near future, do not use products containing full-spectrum CBD.
